Training
Mr Haendlmayer graduated from University Berlin Medical School in 1991 with distinction, then worked as a junior doctor in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Berlin and Dresden. Whilst in Dresden, he completed a dissertation with the title “Diagnostics of Muscle Function following Total Hip Replacement” in association with the University Goettingen in Germany.
Mr Haendlmayer has always had a keen interest in Orthopaedic Surgery, Trauma and Sports Medicine. He completed his qualification in Sports and Exercise Medicine in Germany in 1996 after working in sports rehabilitation in Klinik Bavaria in Dresden.
Mr Haendlmayer then moved to Yorkshire, England in 1997 for basic surgical training within the Vale of York rotation. He passed his MRCS exam in 2002 to become a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
